Rudi Studer
Rudi Studer is Full Professor in applied informatics at the University of Karlsruhe, Institute AIFB. His research interests include knowledge management, Semantic Web technologies and applications, ontology management, data and text mining, service-oriented architectures, peer-to-peer systems and the Semantic Grid.
Rudi Studer is also director of Information Process Engineering and one of the presidents at the University's FZI Research Center for Information Technologies. He is co-founder of a spin-off company developing semantic applications, ontoprise GmbH.
Rudi is engaged in various national and international cooperation projects funded by the European Commission, the German Ministry of Education and Research, and industry. He is technical director of the Integrated Project SEKT (Semantically-enabled Knowledge Technologies) as well as of the Integrated Project NeOn (Life Cycle Support for Networked Ontologies). He is president of the Semantic Web Science Association and Editor-in-chief of the journal Web Semantics: Science, Services, and Agents on the World Wide Web.
Prior to joining the University of Karlsruhe, Rudi was project leader and manager at the Scientific Centre of IBM Germany and a research scientist at the University of Stuttgart.
