docbook -> latex & xhtml

I've looked at this in the past. Problems I had

  • the free tools were not complete. There was tools to convert docbook to other formats but docbook is so large that none of them covered it all. It would be very useful if docbooks was split into smaller chunks that a bit of software could be compliant with docbook parts (A,C & F) for example, rather than just missing random bits.
  • There are no widely accepted tools which output docbook.
